According to the latest statistical data, Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports reached 2.251 billion US dollars in January 2023, down 22.42% month-on-month and 36.98% year-on-year; Exported yarn was 88100 tons, down 33.77% month-on-month and 38.88% year-on-year; The imported yarn was 60100 tons, down 25.74% month-on-month and 35.06% year-on-year; The import of fabrics was 936 million US dollars, down 9.14% month-on-month and 32.76% year-on-year.
It can be seen that, affected by the global economic downturn, Vietnam’s textile, clothing and yarn exports fell year-on-year in January. Vietnam Textile and Clothing Association (VITAS) said that after the Spring Festival, enterprises quickly resumed production, recruited a large number of skilled workers to complete high-quality orders, and increased the use of domestic raw materials to reduce imports. It is expected that Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports will reach $45-47 billion in 2023, and orders will pick up in the second or third quarter of this year.
