The increase in cotton yarn purchases by traders and weaving industry in northern North India has led to an increase of Rs 3 per kg in the market price of Ludhiana. This growth can be attributed to factories increasing their sales rates. However, the Delhi market remained stable after rising earlier this week. Traders have expressed concerns about the retail market demand, but it is expected that demand for intermediate products such as fibers, yarns, and fabrics may increase in the final months of this year. This year will end in September.
The cotton yarn price in Ludhiana market increased by 3 rupees per kilogram. Textile mills have increased their carding rate, and several textile mills have stopped selling cotton yarn raw materials. Gulshan Jain, a trader in the Ludhiana market, said: “Market sentiment is still optimistic. Yarn mills raise prices to support market prices. In addition, China’s purchase of cotton yarn in recent days has also boosted demand.”
The selling price of 30 pieces of combed yarn is 265-275 rupees per kilogram (including goods and service tax), and the transaction price of 20 and 25 pieces of combed yarn is 255-260 rupees per kilogram and 260-265 rupees per kilogram. The price of 30 coarse combed yarns is 245-255 rupees per kilogram.
The cotton yarn prices in the Delhi market remain unchanged, with active buying. A trader in the Delhi market said, “The market has observed stable cotton yarn prices. Buyers are concerned about demand from the retail sector, and export demand has not been able to support the domestic value chain. However, the recent increase in minimum support price (MSP) for cotton may prompt the industry to increase inventory
The transaction price for 30 pieces of combed yarn is 265-270 rupees per kilogram (excluding goods and services tax), 40 pieces of combed yarn is 290-295 rupees per kilogram, 30 pieces of combed yarn are 237-242 rupees per kilogram, and 40 pieces of combed yarn are 267-270 rupees per kilogram.
The recycled yarn in the Panipat market remains stable. In the center of household textiles in India, the demand for consumer goods is still very low, and the demand for home products in both domestic and global markets is slowing down. Therefore, buyers are very cautious when purchasing new yarn, and the factory has not lowered the yarn price to attract buyers.
The transaction price for 10 recycled PC yarns (gray) is 80-85 rupees per kilogram (excluding goods and services tax), 10 recycled PC yarns (black) are 50-55 rupees per kilogram, 20 recycled PC yarns (gray) are 95-100 rupees per kilogram, and 30 recycled PC yarns (gray) are 140-145 rupees per kilogram. The price of roving is approximately 130-132 rupees per kilogram, and recycled polyester fiber is 68-70 rupees per kilogram.
Due to the weakness of cotton in ICE period, cotton prices in northern North India show a downward trend. Spinning mills are cautiously buying after the recent rise in cotton prices. In the following year starting from October, the central government will increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for medium staple cotton by 8.9% to 6620 rupees per kilogram. However, this did not provide support for cotton prices, as they were already higher than the government’s procurement prices. Traders pointed out that due to stable prices, there is limited purchasing activity in the market.
The cotton trading price in Punjab and Haryana fell by 25 rupees to 37.2kg. The arrival quantity of cotton is 2500-2600 bags (170 kilograms per bag). Prices range from INR 5850-5950 in Punjab to INR 5800-5900 in Haryana. The transaction price of cotton in Upper Rajasthan is Rs. 6175-6275 per 37.2 kg. The price of cotton in Rajasthan is 56500-58000 rupees per 356kg.
