Weekly Report on American Cotton Export Increase in Contracted Volume, And a Small Amount of Procurement in China

The USDA report shows that from November 25 to December 1, 2022, the net contracting volume of American upland cotton in 2022/23 will be 7394 tons. The newly signed contracts will mainly come from China (2495 tons), Bangladesh, Türkiye, Vietnam and Pakistan, and the cancelled contracts will mainly come from Thailand and South Korea.

The contracted net export volume of American upland cotton in 2023/24 is 5988 tons, and the buyers are Pakistan and Türkiye.

The United States will ship 32,000 tons of upland cotton in 2022/23, mainly to China (13,600 tons), Pakistan, Mexico, El Salvador and Vietnam.

In 2022/23, the net contracted volume of American Pima cotton was 318 tons, and the buyers were China (249 tons), Thailand, Guatemala, South Korea and Japan. Germany and India cancelled the contract.

In 2023/24, the contracted net export volume of Pima cotton from the United States is 45 tons, and the buyer is Guatemala.

The export shipment volume of American Pima cotton in 2022/23 is 1565 tons, mainly to India, Indonesia, Thailand, Türkiye and China (204 tons).
